More Shots from Last Week’s 4th
I’ve taken about 220 images in total on the 4th last week. Again, I was extremely disappointed that I didn’t take my tripod and have already prepared for next year by purchasing a Gorillapod Gripster Tripod on eBay. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use of it before next year. The tripod is pretty cool as it allows you to wrap its flexible legs around any surface providing a steady platform for the camera. Over the weekend, Natalie area heading to Strathmere where I’ll take the new tripod for a spin.
4th on the Hudson River
Since I was 8-9 years old I’ve been watching the NYC Macy’s fireworks on the East River standing on the east side highway overpass somewhere along 14th and 23rd street in Manhattan. As I got older and moved out to Brooklyn, I’ve began watching them from off of various rooftops in Williamsburg and a couple of times of off the broken down piers of Williamsburg. Last night, with the Hudson celebrating its 400th birthday, (kind of ironic since the river existed before it was named) the fireworks were launched of off 4 barges along the Hudson River. We prepared by getting annihilated during the afternoon by Natalie’s home made sangria, took a power nap late in the afternoon and set out to the Hoboken Piers around 7pm in order to get a good viewing spot.
