One Peanut Down, One To Go

Peanut GraffitiManaging a dog, a fiancée, and a job is not easy but I’m getting it done. This morning I dropped Peanut off at the vet for his teeth surgery. I checked in on him in the afternoon and according to the vet everything went well. I couldn’t be happier only because everything with him has been going so well as of late and getting his teeth checked up was a huge milestone on the long list that Natalie and I have been putting together.

Locked-out on a Sunday Afternoon

Salem ParkThis is going to be a lame entry. I managed to lock myself out of my fiancée’s apartment this past Sunday. I got up a little before 12, smashed from the night before, I proceeded to the grocery store around the corner. Figured I’d grab both of us some breakfast and get myself a nice ice-cold coffee. One thing though, I forgot to grab the keys – even with my half asleep fiancee reminding me to grab them as I was leaving the apartment. It hit me right as I was walking back from the store. I went back into the building, took the elevator up to the 15th floor and knocked profusely at the door. No cell phone, no laptop, no keys to my own apartment either. I knocked for about 20 minutes and gave up knowing that there’s no way she’d hear it being as her room was upstairs with the door far away.

Peanut checks into a Doggy Hotel

VislasNatalie and I checked Peanut into a doggy day care center for the weekend in order to get a worry-free weekend all to ourselves. At the same time, Peanut got chance to socialize with some other pups. Seeing the facility with my own eyes and watching the dogs interact with one another brought me back to a time when I worked as a dog walker several years ago while freelancing and being in between jobs.

Falcon Devours Pigeon at Union Square

Falcon at Union SquareI’m not a bird watcher by any means, although I’m guilty of walking around the city with my camera and photographing anything that moves. I spotted this falcon atop a tree at Union Square in Manhattan, munching away on a freshly killed pigeon. A large group had gathered around the sight as people around me gasped and pointed at the bird.
