Peanut checks into a Doggy Hotel

Natalie and I checked Peanut into a doggy day care center for the weekend in order to get a worry-free weekend all to ourselves. At the same time, Peanut got chance to socialize with some other pups. Seeing the facility with my own eyes and watching the dogs interact with one another brought me back to a time when I worked as a dog walker several years ago while freelancing and being in between jobs.

Putting on my warm coat, hats, gloves, packing my camera and throwing its trap over my shoulders gave me such an exhilerating feeling every morning. I started off my day every morning taking these 2 Vislas over the a dog run by Chelsea Piers on the west side of Manhattan. As soon as I took off their leashes, they’d jet all over the dog run chasing one another and provided me with so many different angles in photographing them.

I’d get home after my walking schedule was completed, inspired and consumed with all sort of ideas to deploy on the particular freelance project I was in the middle of working on. I think the reward for me was in taking the images as I always put off editing and touching up the images for the future as a 2nd tier reward.

Weird. I know.
